On January 18 and 19, BCCIE, in partnership with the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), is hosting a two-day symposium focused on international student support. The event will take place in-person at Vancouver Community College (VCC).

This event is an opportunity for international education practitioners to exchange knowledge, share resources, and stay informed about our sector. Explore key topics in international student support as we create a collaborative space to engage in conversations about best practices, priorities, and challenges. The agenda will feature plenary sessions, interactive breakout sessions, and networking activities.

Travel

In alignment with BCCIE’s commitment to environmental sustainability at our in-person events, we encourage you to consider your chosen method of transportation to Vancouver and how it impacts your carbon footprint. Where possible, avoid air-travel and instead opt to carpool, walk-on the ferry, or take public transportation.

Travel Stipend

We are offering a stipend to help offset costs for those outside Metro Vancouver attending our BC Symposium: Advancing International Student Support. Please note there is a limited amount of funding and funding is not guaranteed.

To ensure a diverse and representative participation, priority will be given to underrepresented groups, with a specific focus on achieving balanced regional attendance. We encourage individuals at executive levels to explore alternative funding avenues, allowing new employees and those less accustomed to travel an opportunity to attend.

To apply for the travel stipend, please fill out the application form.
