On January 30 and 31, the 2nd annual symposium focused on international student support will take place in-person at Vancouver Community College (VCC) (downtown campus). This event is hosted by BCCIE, in partnership with the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE).
This event is an opportunity for international education practitioners to exchange knowledge, share resources, and stay informed about our sector. Explore key topics in international student support related to the new IE EQA Code of Practice, as we create a collaborative space to engage in conversations about best practices, priorities, and challenges. The agenda will feature plenary sessions, interactive breakout sessions, and networking activities.
The registration fee for this event will be $150 (plus tax) and will include refreshments on both days, and lunch on Friday. The deadline to register for this event is January 23, 2025.

Travel
In alignment with BCCIE’s commitment to environmental sustainability at our in-person events, we encourage you to consider your chosen method of transportation to Vancouver and how it impacts your carbon footprint. We understand that it's not always convenient for those travelling from great distances, but where possible, avoid air-travel and instead opt to carpool, walk-on the ferry, or take public transportation.
Travel Stipend
We are offering a stipend to help offset a portion of travel costs for those residing outside Metro Vancouver who are attending the BC Symposium: Advancing International Student Support. Please note that there is a limited amount of funding and funding is not guaranteed. The travel bursary application has now closed. Applicants will receive an update on their application soon.
