Description

safeTALK is a half day accredited training program that comes with certification through LivingWorks and is part of an internationally approved suicide intervention strategy program since 1981, aimed to alert one to warning signs indicating considering suicide. The workshop emphasizes the importance of recognizing the signs, communicating with the person considering suicide and getting help or resources for the person considering suicide. Anyone can respond to a person thinking about suicide when they’re equipped with information, knowledge, and skills. After attending this workshop, participants feel more confident to identify and willing to help people considering suicide.

Learning Objectives

  •  Identify persons with thoughts of suicide.
  • Connect persons with thoughts of suicide to suicide first aid resources.

Certificate and Accreditation

All participants will receive a certificate at the end of the course. Please check with your professional association to see if the course qualifies you to receive professional development credits or continuing education credits.

Registration for the pre-conference workshop includes coffee and light refreshments during breaks, as well as a lunch.
