The 15th annual BCCIE International Education Awards recognize the professionalism, dedication, and efforts of an exemplary group of experts and practitioners in the field of international education in British Columbia. Winners represent a broad range of leaders from all parts of the sector and who represent the best and brightest in our province.

Nominations are now closed. Winners will be announced at our Awards banquet on June 25.

Award Categories

The BCCIE International Education Awards will be decided by a peer committee and awarded in the following categories:

Rising Star in International Education 

This award recognizes tomorrow’s leaders, our up-and-coming talent, and the next generation of leaders and practitioners in the field of international education.

Excellence in International Education Marketing

This award recognizes excellence and success in support of the education export sector in BC and the marketing of our world-class education system.

International Education Lifetime Achievement*

This award recognizes the long-term contributions made and the far-reaching impacts realized over a career of commitment to BC’s international education sector.

*Occasional BCCIE award category

Outstanding Program in International Education 

This award honors institutions, districts, or programs for excellence and innovation in international education. It spotlights programs focusing on emerging areas such as intercultural learning, Equity Diversity Inclusion (EDI) and international student support. 

International Education Distinguished Leadership 

This award honors a distinguished international educator or community leader who has significantly impacted and led the field of international education through their achievements and leadership.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

BCCIE will accept nominations for its 2024 International Education Awards for colleagues working at or programs operated by BC public school districts, government-recognized independent schools within BC, EQA-designated public and private post-secondary institutions, EQA-designated language schools, and BC-based organizations in the field of international education. All nominees must have worked in BC for a minimum of six months prior to the nomination deadline of April 30, 2024.

As the nominator, you are responsible for submitting a complete nomination form and providing reference contact information from at least one additional colleague. Although completed reference letters will not be required in the nomination application, reference(s) are encouraged to provide input when completing the nomination form.

The awards selection committee will consist of fellow BC peers and international education representatives across all sectors.
