A strong champion for affordable housing, immigrant services including international students and senior care, Choo is a tireless advocate who builds community coalitions, finds solutions, celebrates diversity and speaks against racism and hate. She serves on Invest Vancouver Board to promote economic prosperity and leads the Diversity Council for the Royal Canadian Navy to advance gender equity. Choo is the first Chinese-Canadian woman appointed as honorary captain of RCN. She was nominated as a YWCA Woman of Distinction. For 2021-2023, Choo was recognized as an influential leader by Business in Vancouver and she earned a Richmond Centre Outstanding Constituent Award for her volunteer work. She is also nominated for the Woman Distinction Awards.
