Description

International students are particularly vulnerable to exploitation as they undertake a new adventure in a country they are unfamiliar with and without their social network. This session will explore international students' vulnerabilities and offer institutions a template from which to build upon that fosters a culture of belonging and combats exploitation. Participants are encouraged to share experiences and their ideas and best practices to add to the effort.

Learning Outcomes
  • Understand the different types of exploitation that international students face
  • Develop keys to identifying students who are vulnerable to or are already being exploited
  • Create a campus culture that fosters a sense of belonging which inhibits exploitation
