Description

Join us for an interactive and engaging session that dives deep into the practical application of British Columbia’s Education Quality Assurance (EQA) Code of Practice. Building on the valuable insights shared at the BCCIE Symposium, this session will provide a platform for discussing the challenges and successes of implementing the Code, with a specific focus on marketing, recruitment, and agent management practices within the international education sector. The EQA Code of Practice ensures that institutions maintain the highest standards of transparency, ethics, and quality in their operations. This session will offer participants the opportunity to explore how these principles translate into effective strategies for marketing, recruitment, and agent management. We will examine how our institutions have aligned our practices with the Code, while overcoming challenges such as ensuring accurate and ethical marketing, complying with recruitment standards, and managing diverse networks of international agents.

Key components of this session will include sharing experiences learned from institutions' own experiences implementing the Code, particularly regarding transparent communication with prospective international students, ethical marketing strategies, and responsible agent management. Attendees will leave with tangible tools and resources to refine their own practices. This will include checklists for reviewing agent agreements, guidelines for marketing materials that align with the EQA Code, and tips for monitoring and improving recruitment practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss specific issues they are facing at their institutions. This open forum will encourage collaboration, with guidance from experts and peers on overcoming obstacles and maintaining compliance with the EQA Code.

This session is designed for education administrators, recruitment officers, and international student advisors who are looking to enhance their understanding of the EQA Code of Practice and improve their institution’s marketing, recruitment, and agent management strategies. By the end of the session, attendees will have a deeper understanding of the Code’s impact on daily operations and practical knowledge on how to successfully implement its principles in a way that benefits both their institution and the students they serve.
