Description

In early 2020, Global Village in Vancouver announced that it was closing its doors after 25 years of teaching English. Upon learning about the imminent closure of Global Village Vancouver, IDP Education Canada and ILAC sparked an immediate conversation in an effort to save hundreds of jobs and continue providing testing for thousands of international students and newcomers to Canada on the path to higher education and immigration. This led to the unique collaboration between GV, IDP, and ILAC that allowed for a seamless transition of IELTS operations and staff to the ILAC campuses in Vancouver. In this presentation, we will talk about the different challenges faced by GV, IDP and ILAC due to COVID-19 and how a strong partnership and open communication allowed us to positively impact the lives of many different people across the industry. Please note this session is in Zoom meeting format and may require (optional) audience video/audio participation.
