Name
Colleges and institutes – Pathways for All
Date
Thursday, June 24, 2021
Time
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM (PDT)
Description

Colleges have long been points of access to post-secondary education for traditionally marginalized groups including Indigenous peoples, women, adult learners, and newcomers, offering pathways into the labour or further education. As we grapple with the ramifications of the pandemic on traditionally marginalized groups, combined with the ongoing impact to education as work evolves and displaced workers seek ways to upskill or reskill, learners are looking for non-traditional ways of accessing education or the workforce. With the launch of a new credential type, microcredentials, and the proliferation of post-graduate certificates, colleges offer a variety of pathways for all types of learners. Join CICan’s Denise Amyot, Anna Toneguzzo, and Holly Skelton to learn about CICan’s research on microcredentials and post-graduate certificates, and the access they offer all learners.
