Bio
Fazela Haniff is the Past President of the International Education Association of South Africa and the first woman president. In 2010 she received an award in recognition of “Exemplary Leadership as IEASA President.”
She has contributed widely to the internationalization dialogue, outlining the value of understanding international cultures and inclusion, and the effect of institutional racism. She has also contributed to publications related to international higher education challenges and engagement with organizations such as ACEI, IEASA, ANNIE, ACE, AIEA, EAIE APAIE, IIE, NIEA, and NAFSA.
Fazela completed her Human Resources Management studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, Higher Education Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, and Bachelor of Business Administration from Yorkville University.
Fazela currently lives in Canada and consults widely on Strategic Leadership through a Diversity and Belonging lens. Her current work focuses on addressing systemic racism in the higher education landscape. She is the current Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Human Resources Strategist Consultant in Higher Education at ACEI Global Consulting Group.
