Providing quality support for international students is a key priority for VIU. Ensuring alignment with the IE Code of Practice requires a thorough review and assessment of current international student support practices. This process is already underway, and its findings may prompt adjustments to existing practices or the development of new ones.

This session will detail the steps VIU is taking to achieve compliance with the IE Code of Practice and explore its alignment with VIU’s priorities and strategic direction. Participants will engage with a variety of topics including discoveries from the compliance process, the vital role of recruitment, marketing, and other departments in delivering a high-quality student experience, and the concept of “line of sight” and its critical importance. The session will also explore how every function within a university contributes to a quality student experience, significant conversations taking place at VIU and how to prepare for a Quality Assurance Process Audit or review.
