Dr. Philipp Reichert is the Director, Global Engagement at UBC’s Okanagan campus and Senior Advisor, Learning and Development at the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) and previous co-chair of the CBIE National Immigration Advisory Committee. Philipp is an experienced international educator and administrator, involved in a variety of roles with CBIE, NAFSA, AIEA. He currently serves on the AIEA Board, a number of advisory boards, and is an active member of the Okanagan Local Immigration Partnership Committee. He is a frequent presenter, workshop facilitator, and SME consultant in the area of immigration law, internationalization, and international education policy. Prior to joining UBCO, he was at the Rotterdam School of Management, and the Hague Centre for Strategic Studies. Philipp holds a doctorate from the University of Calgary where his research and dissertation focused on the internationalization of higher education, specifically the nexus of government policies, institutional programming, and international student career transitions. Philipp received his Master’s degree with honours in International Relations from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands where he was a Nuffic Huygens scholar and also holds his RCIC designation in Canadian immigration law.
