Laurie has spent over 19 years in the public post-secondary sector. She recently spent 4 years in the private sector working in International Education as the Director of Marketing for International Consultants for Educational Fairs (ICEF GmbH) where she led a global remote marketing team and conducted seminars at ICEF events on digital marketing strategies. She is now at Thompson Rivers University leading three teams: transnational education, study abroad, and the international contract training team. Her responsibilities focus on partnership development and now more-than-ever utilize her experience in online team leadership and online instruction!

Laurie has worked in student recruitment and marketing at Thompson Rivers University, Douglas College, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. For 15 years she also taught as a part-time instructor in online web development and multimedia courses for the British Columbia Institute of technology and Thompson Rivers University.

Laurie has a MA in International and Intercultural Communication from Royal Roads University. Her specialties include leading teams in the execution of partnership, communication, and marketing strategies. Her areas of research focus on intercultural and international communication concepts and web user experience.
Laurie lives in Kamloops, BC Canada. When she isn’t working, she can be found enjoying the outdoors skiing, kayaking, hiking or mountain biking.
