Dr Bantayan pioneered the application of spatial digital technology in forestry in instruction, research and extension which led to the modernization of the curricular program in forestry and consequently expanded the employment opportunities of graduates. He initiated the research on the forest canopy that led to new findings on flora and fauna and the installation of the forest canopy tower – a first in the Philippines. He’s a Professor and professional forester with a degree in Forestry from the University of the Philippines Los Banos in 1984, MSc from Wageningen Research University, The Netherlands 1990, and Ph.D. in Engineering from The University of Melbourne in Australia 1996

He wrote a seminal book on GIS that is being used as the textbook for GIS in environment, forestry and natural resources. Dr. Bantayan is an accomplished researcher counting more than 20 research programs and projects to his name. He has co-authored ten books; more than 50 papers and journals and attended international conferences in USA, Europe and Asia.

Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr. is the 10th chancellor of UPLB. He was elected by the Board of Regents at its 1354thmeeting on Sept. 24 and started his three-year term on 01 November 2020.
He was the dean of the Graduate School (GS) from February 2012 to October 31 2020, and a professor of economics at the College of Economics and Management (CEM).
His vision-mission statement is entitled “Future-Proofing UPLB.”
He specified the need to future-proof UPLB’s human resources, lifelong learning and instruction system, research and innovation system, commitment to public good and social welfare, and global engagement.
He first served as the associate dean and chair of academic programs and curriculum of CEM (2007-2012), and chair of the Department of Economics (2001-2004).
He also serves as the chair of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Graduate Education and of the Technical Panel in Economics, and co-chair of the TWG for the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, all at the Commission on Higher Education.
He finished in 2007 his Doctor of Economics, with specialization in Economics of Education, Labor, and Human Resource Economics at Kyoto University, Japan.

She is currently the director International Affairs and Linkages and a faculty of the Language and Letters Department in Bukidnon State University. She finished her bachelor’s degree in secondary education in English then Bukidnon State College, and Master’s of Arts in English Language Teaching in the same school. She finished her doctorate degree in Cebu Normal University specializing in computer-assisted language learning. She was also a recipient of the e-teacher scholarship conferred by the US Embassy to the University of South Carolina in 2009.
She has written research on information and visual literacy, game-based learning, computer-mediated learning, and material construction and validation on these fields. She is one of the pioneers in the Philippines trained by the US Embassy to be an American English resources trainer.
Also, she is an avid reader and a genealogy enthusiast. Sunday dinners with her family is her most favorite activity.

Prospero “Popoy” de Vera III is the Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Chairman of the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), and Commissioner of UNESCO. Prior to his appointment to the Commission, he served as Vice President for Public Affairs of the University of the Philippines from 2011-2016 and Professor of Public Administration.
As CHED Chairman, he steers the governance of all the Board of Regents/Trustees of all state universities and colleges including the University of the Philippines and Mindanao State University.
As UNIFAST Chairman, he ensures the implementation of the most important social legislation of the Duterte administration – the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) or Free Higher Education law.
Dr. de Vera steered the higher education system during the COVID19 pandemic by working with the education stakeholders in adopting a flexible learning system and ensuring the inclusion of higher education issues at the highest levels of government as a member of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

In 2017, the Commission on Elections proclaimed Crisostomo C. Garbo as the city mayor of Mabalacat. Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata, University Director for Internationalization, Linkages and ETEEAP, is also the former department chair of the Languages Department and former program chair of the BA Communication program. He also acted as the focal person of the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication and Knowledge (CLICK). He was awarded as the 2016 Most Outstanding Faculty Member in DMMMSU; and an awardee of the Travel Grant by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts to conduct research presentations in Europe in 2018. Last year, he was chosen as the Filipino representative to participate in the Young Southeast Asia Leaders Initiative fellowship in Fulbright University Vietnam, sponsored by the US Embassy. He also joined the Commission on Higher Education delegation to travel to Canada as part of the Canadian-Philippine cultural and academic immersion. KARINA MILAGROS R. CUI-LIM, PhD is the current Vice President for Research, Development and Extension, University of Eastern Philippines. She is a licensed chemist and a chemistry professor for 22 years in the College of Science. She has been teaching chemistry in College of Science, College of Nursing, College of Engineering, and College of Agriculture in UEP. She obtained her BS in Chemistry, MS in Chemistry, and PhD Chemistry degree at the University of Santo Tomas, Espana, Manila. She was privileged to be CHED-PGMA scholar in her PhD degree and CHED PGMA-Sandwich program recipient for her dissertation at the University of Houston, Texas, USA.
Dr. Cui-Lim has had several trainings and exposures in chemistry and chemistry related topics. She has been a trainer in organic chemistry and research methods in chemistry of the UEP-DOST Regional Science Training Center. She published several articles in international referred journals like the American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry and Wiley. Her research interest is focused on the fabrication, characterization and application of carbon nanotubes/polymers nanocomposites and natural products which she actively presented research works in national and international conferences like the Philippine Chemistry Congress and Asian Chemical Congress.
