Description

This presentation will discuss some of the in-Canada and international outcomes from the last year of implementing the 'Journeying Together a Transformative Approach to Indigenization and Internationalization at NIC' process. This is a new process in Canada and is reflective of place (North Island, Central Coast), so audience perspectives are welcome. Aspects discussed will include establishing guidance and support from the Office of Indigenous Education (OIE); Elder and college community engagement; Considerations for Indigenous international partnership development; Relationship development between the OIE and the Office of Global Engagement; Indigenous study abroad/COIL development; And, language and culture revitalization/teaching/sharing.
