Eliza Chan is an experienced professional in the settlement sector. She joined MOSAIC as a volunteer/practicum student, working all the way up to the current position as a program manager supporting newcomers in Canada.
Given her personal experience as an immigrant, Eliza is passionate to support newcomers in their transition of settlement. She is leading a diverse team consists of 18 staff with 23 languages. The service area covers from filling out government documents, assisting job search, finding housing, providing resources and many more, to finally becoming a Canadian citizen.
Eliza had 20 years’ HR experience in her home country, however, the skill was not fully enough to help her land a job in settlement sector. At the age of 50, she went back to school and upgraded her skill by finishing an Applied Psychology degree, then attained a certificate in Counselling. That’s how her dream came true.
Eliza loves multiculturalism especially in Arts N Crafts. She enjoys spending her free time travelling, cooking, crocheting, and playing badminton.
