Description

‘Responsible internationalization’ is a hot topic that currently generates much discussion in international higher education recruitment and admissions.

The term describes an approach to admissions that is fair, student-centred and based on positive learning experiences. There is a focus on building a diverse international student population, offering appropriate support, and giving excellent learning and life experiences.

This session explores some of the measurements that might be used to determine student readiness to help admissions processes and lead to more confident recruitment. Insights from student experiences are provided from a variety of studies that explore those aspects of international studies that students consider most important.

In combination, and by exploring notions of readiness alongside learning from student experiences it may be possible to improve admissions processes and become aligned with responsible internationalization practices.
