Developing and executing an internationalization strategy that is relevant and responsive to the institution, students, and community is no small feat. International strategies require buy-in, alignment with the overall mission and values of the institution, and responsiveness to provincial and federal frameworks. Being strategic and collaborative is important to the success of these plans. Internationalization is more than just recruitment and enrollment as institutions must also consider student services, JEDI, Indigenization, and sustainability in their strategies. Effective internationalization can also positively influence the local economy and contribute to Canada's international standing in education. We will hear from leaders in public and private higher education institutions and the private sector about best practices, engaging stakeholders, lessons learned, and fostering a globalized learning environment.
