Date
Monday, June 24, 2024
Time
3:45 PM - 4:45 PM (PDT)
Description

Clark University, a small private research university in Central New England, has a long a storied global engagement history. That history involves trans-national programs and campus locations in foreign countries. Over the course of its history, Clark has had designated campus locations in Russia, Poland, London, Israel, and China. By leveraging key international partners, these relationships allowed this small university to project a substantial international footprint. In the years prior to the Pandemic, the institutions had seen a decline and shrinkage of these partnerships, largely out of institutional neglect. The pandemic also led to the closure of two programs, one in Poland and one in China. This session will examine this case and how the international footprint for this institution is being re-built with an eye towards long term fiscal sustainability and a more strategic approach to program location and partnership development.
