Maika Tshimbalanga is a dedicated champion of educational equity with over 20 years of experience supporting the holistic success of underrepresented students. As the Senior Director of Enrollment and Student Success at City University in Canada, Maika brings a strong background in management, leadership, and student affairs to her role.

A first-generation college graduate, Maika draws on her personal journey to inform her commitment to breaking down barriers and fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments where all students can thrive—academically, personally, and professionally.

At CityU, Maika leads strategic efforts to develop innovative recruitment initiatives, strengthen student support services, and build a campus culture rooted in belonging and empowerment. She believes deeply in the power of mentorship, advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration to drive systemic change and expand opportunities for all learners.

Outside of her work at CityU, Maika actively contributes to professional associations and community initiatives focused on advancing equity and social justice in education. She is a firm believer in the transformative power of education and remains committed to equipping students from diverse backgrounds with the tools and confidence to achieve their goals and positively impact their communities.
