Marissa Thola is the International Engagement Coordinator at Northern Lights College, located in the northeastern part of British Columbia. Marissa's role primarily involves supporting international students from the moment they receive their Letter of Acceptance through the transition to post-graduation. She works closely with the Student Support Team to oversee various aspects such as academic monitoring, tutoring support, and mental health. Marissa conducts workshops on maintaining study permit conditions, navigating post-graduation work permit applications, and exploring pathways to permanent residence.

Currently, Marissa is working on her dissertation, which is focused on the relationship between success and access to support systems among international students in achieving academic excellence within a rural community college setting.
