Lucas Hames Shiguehara (he/him) has worked in post-secondary education for six years, beginning as an international student and transitioning into his current role after graduation. He earned a Diploma in Business Management and an Associate of Arts Degree in Creative Writing from the very institution where he now works, and has navigated the world of Canadian education as a student and as a worker, as a dreamer and as a guide. As a student, he served as an i-Guide mentor and helped guide new students throughout their first semesters of studies. He also began working on campus, where he aimed to enrich his community—offering not just information, but warmth, joy, and a sense of hope. Throughout his time in the field, he has been committed to supporting both international and domestic students to the best of his abilities. Lucas has taken on a wide variety of responsibilities over the years and remains dedicated to helping students from all over the world succeed.
