Introducing the Languages Canada Joint Pathway Program and Partnership-Building Sessions
Date
Monday, June 22, 2026
Time
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM (PDT)
Description

Presentation - Previously, close to a quarter of all students in Languages Canada member programs were bound for post-secondary studies via English- or French- language pathway programs. However, pathway program enrolments have declined to a fraction of what they once were, due in part to IRCC’s 2024 requirement of a second PAL and study permit to transition from language study to college or university. Languages Canada developed the Joint Pathway Program (JPP), an IRCC-compliant “joint program” model, to rebuild language-to-academic enrolment pipelines through structured collaboration between accredited public- and private-sector language programs. The JPP restores seamless progression from language education into post-secondary programs, addressing regulatory barriers and policy constraints that have eradicated traditional pathways. This session will provide an introduction and overview of the JPP, which is currently in the pilot phase.

Partnership-Building Sessions – By registration, institutions will have the opportunity to participate in B2B exploratory partnership meetings. During 10-minute pre-arranged meetings, language schools, colleges, and universities will learn more about each other’s programs, recruitment goals, and determine if there is suitable institutional alignment to pursue a partnership agreement under the JPP. To participate, interested institutions must register for the session via a link that will be circulated prior to the conference.

If you are interested in participating in B2B meetings, please complete thisexpression of interest form.
