This session will provide an economist’s perspective on the development of international education as a major industry in Canada and British Columbia. The presentation will explore how international education has grown over time as a distinct ‘export industry’, its domestic economic contribution, as well as some of the questions and challenges that have emerged in recent years. This presentation will offer participants an opportunity to reflect on the broader context shaping international education today.
