Stay in the heart of downtown Victoria at the historic Fairmont Empress, conveniently connected to the Victoria Conference Centre, the host venue for BCIEW 2027. BCCIE has secured a special conference rate of $335 per night, plus taxes and fees, from June 20-23. Rooms before and after these dates at the BCIEW rate are subject to hotel availability. Full conference registrants who book at Fairmont Empress will receive a $100 registration discount. Rooms must be booked by May 18.  

Please note: BCCIE will review the rooming list on May 4 at 9 a.m. PT  to help ensure rooms in the BCIEW block remain available for conference attendees. If you have booked a room but have not yet registered for BCIEW by this date, your reservation may be released back into the room block. 

How to Get There

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we encourage attendees to consider how they travel to Victoria. Where possible, please consider more sustainable options such as carpooling, travelling as a foot passenger on the ferry, or using public transportation.  

By Air

Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is about a 30-minute drive from downtown. Public transit is also available between the airport and downtown Victoria.

By Ferry

The Swartz Bay ferry terminal is approximately 40 minutes from downtown Victoria by car. BC Transit also provides service between the ferry terminal and downtown, making it possible to travel as a foot passenger.  

Once you arrive, the Fairmont Empress and Victoria Conference Centre are centrally located downtown, with restaurants, shops, attractions, and the Inner Harbour all within walking distance.  

Explore Victoria

  • Explore Victoria’s Inner Harbour, just steps from the Fairmont Empress, and discover nearby landmarks, museums, and galleries. 
  • Experience the West Coast on a whale-watching tour and look for orcas, humpback whales, seals, see lions, and other marine wildlife. 
  • Enjoy Victoria’s famous gardens and parks, including Beacon Hill Park, an easy 15-minute walk from the hotel. 
  • Discover Victoria’s shopping scene, from Government Street and the Bay Centre just steps away to the independent shops of Lower Johnson.
