Cecilia has been a Global Community Adviser with International Centre for Students at the University of Victoria since June of 2018. Cecilia brings a great amount of experience and passion for international education, community engagement, leadership, volunteer management, event planning and cross-cultural communication. For the past 10+ years, Cecilia has been actively involved with the international community and refugee sponsorship, specifically supporting newcomers in their resettlement to Canada. In 2015, she spent six months at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa, Malawi, where she developed and facilitated Canadian Life Skills pre-departure curriculum and taught university preparation courses with young World University Services of Canada (WUSC) scholarship recipients. Cecilia has very recently received her Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) designation is also a graduate of the Leadership Victoria’s Community Leadership Development Program.
