Born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver, Teresa Brooks 黃德蘭 is a first-generation immigrant who lives and works on the unceded, traditional, ancestral, and present-day territory of the Musqueam First Nation. Teresa currently serves as the Associate Director of International Student Services at Langara College. With over 20 years’ experience in International Education, her work focuses on international student support, transition, and engagement. She has worked with diverse international student groups, supporting them to become effective leaders and active community contributors. Teresa believes in the transformative power of mentorship to foster students' growth, facilitate their learning, and cultivate a sense of belonging. She holds an MEd in Counselling Psychology from the University of BC as well as various certificates in EDI and Anti-Racism Education. Teresa is committed to enhancing international student success by meeting them where they are and empowering them to achieve their educational goals.
