Joining VCC in 2017, Joel Rivera is one of the original Business Management Post-Degree Program instructors. He has assisted in creating several courses in the program, including Organizational Behaviour, Human Resources, and Business Law, as well as all courses directly related to Preparation and Workplace Practicum.

Joel is a seasoned HR professional with over 25 years of experience and excellent operational background. Joel has practiced human resources across all ten provinces and three territories of Canada and has a wealth of knowledge about employment in both the private and public sectors. He has held many HR roles within the Hospitality sector and has worked with the CBC / Radio-Canada. While continuing to teach at VCC, Joel also has a successful HR consulting practice where he has worked with clients in the government, NPO, education, retail, hospitality and manufacturing sectors. Joel is a graduate of VCC and holds a Bachelor of Hospitality Management and his Provincial Instructors Diploma (PIDP). He has a Masters in Science - Industrial & Organizational Behaviour/Psychology and Human Resource Management. Joel also holds the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
